Anticipate the Need to Feed!


Anticipating your need for an easy snack that provides a quick energy boost is a smart move. The trick is to pre-plan what the snack will be and pre-prepare for easy consumption.

I’m the first to admit that I go into the produce department or farmers market with the best of intention to incorporate healthier fruits and veggies into my day and happily fill my basket with reds, oranges, yellows, and greens. Once home, I un-pack all that beautiful produce and proudly display it in an ornate two tiered produce rack that sits prominently on my kitchen counter. All well and good, right?

Of course! I’ve made healthy choices, provided variety, and allowed opportunity for smart selection when hunger strikes. Where I fall short, while envisioning sitting in the back yard, listening to the birds sing, watching the flowers grow, and snacking on a bowl of fruit, is in my acceptance that life happens, time runs short, and plans can change... all of which entice us to grab a handful of potato chips or a Pop-Tart before running out the door.

Take your best intentions one step further by pre-preparing your fruits and vegetables and having on-the-go choices such as bananas, apples, and grapes for quick and easy consumption ~ before hunger strikes! Tips like these in combination with stress reducing practices such as guided imagery, hypnotherapy, and meditation are especially helpful when dealing with digestive issues and weight and stress management.
